Breathing in the Light
This is an Affirmation Breathing Meditation that I created to support you on your recovery journey.
It is designed to help you come out of Fight-Flight-Freeze and to regulate your autonomic nervous system whilst rewiring your brain.
You can do this one sitting up or lying down, ideally with your eyes gently closed. Use headphones to get the maximum health benefits from the binaural sound healing.
This meditation experience is designed to free you for a little while from your mind so that you can have a restorative few moments. It’s 12 minutes long, and so get as comfortable as possible and then hit play on the video below.
Breathing Affirmation Guidance
As you listen to this meditation, allow yourself to follow along; without pressure to do anything perfectly, without expectation of any particular result, each breath is an invitation to shift out of survival mode and into a state of ease. Progress begins to build in these small consistent practices of regulation, where your mindbody system can return to an embodied sense of safety.
Understanding Brain Rewiring Through Meditation
With the right guidance, meditation becomes a powerful tool for brain rewiring. When you practice with focus and consistency, you’re not trying to “relax”, you are actively shifting your autonomic state, gaining the polyvagal benefits of moving out of threat and into regulation. In this regulated state, your brain is able to create new neural pathways and interrupt old symptom loops. Even if your symptoms are severe, these type of short, intentional meditation practices can begin changing long-standing patterns.

You can return to this practice whenever you need a moment of regulation. Over time, these small shifts help rewire your brain and nervous system for greater balance, resilience, and peace.
