Why does your body feel stuck in low-power mode, n Why does your body feel stuck in low-power mode, no matter how much you rest? If you are living with chronic illness, your system may be in collapse or freeze, both protective nervous system states that limit capacity. This is not laziness and it is not giving up. It is your brain and autonomic nervous system trying to protect you.And the tricky thing? Freeze means it’s difficult to feel what is happening, and Collapse mimics rest; but real restoration doesn’t happen there.According to Polyvagal theory, your Mindbody system registers danger, even when you’re lying in bed or doing typical daily activities. Here’s the hopeful part: When you understand the mind-body connection, fear begins to ease. From there, small, repeated safety cues can help your system shift into recovery.Your system is wired to heal in connection, and when no one is physically there, even a symbol of safety can begin to melt the freeze. Here are 4 kinds of signals I recommend to help move out of freeze or collapse:
1. Recovery Rhythm
Developing a recovery rhythm: doing certain activities regularly gives your nervous system predictability, which helps it register safety.
2. Soothing voice
Whether it is your own voice, a guided meditation, or someone you trust, vocal tone is a powerful signal to the vagus nerve. A calm, steady voice helps your system shift from protection toward connection.
3. Somatic Touch
Supportive physical contact, such as placing your hand on your heart or using techniques like Havening Technique activates oxytocin and reduces internal alarm signals.
4. Repeated doses of connection
Reading words from someone who understands, texting a safe friend, or listening to someone speak can gradually create connection which softens the freeze response. It is not about doing more. It is about doing what your system recognises as safe. With the right guidance, the right tools, and the right knowledge, these patterns can change.💬 Comment “Help” and I’ll DM you the free resource library.

When you’ve tried everything, from doctors and s When you’ve tried everything, from doctors and supplements to “pushing through”, and recovery still feels out of reach, it can be disorienting.Perhaps you're tired of trying things that don't deliver. Or perhaps you've run out of things to try.
This post is for anyone standing on the edge of change…
Sometimes that is the exact moment a real shift becomes possible.
Mind-Body Healing isn’t about adding another fix to your list. It’s about looking at your symptoms through a different lens, one that connects your physical experience to your emotional and mental patterns. You don’t need certainty to begin this work. You only need a willingness to step into something new, and that is exactly when I came to this work myself. It was after endless appointments with doctors, and then every alternative healer I could find; shamans, bodyworkers, energy practitioners. I was exhausted, frustrated, and out of options. This path is different. If this feels like you, start with the free tools in my Resources Hub; they are designed to help you take the first steps. You might be surprised how much can shift 🌸💬 Comment “Help” and I’ll DM you the free resource library.

The healing journey can feel lonely, especially wh The healing journey can feel lonely, especially when your symptoms are invisible and the people around you do not understand.I had already asked everyone for help; doctors, hospitals, friends, family... and nobody had the answer. Over time, I became isolated because nobody truly understood what I was living with. On top of the lack of a cure in mainstream medicine, there was a constant undertone that this condition was not real or not serious. The isolation, the loneliness, was extreme.Neuroscience and somatic recovery work show that our brain and nervous system are built to thrive through co-regulation. In safe, attuned connection, we can shift out of fight or flight in real time; we co-regulate. You do not need someone to fix you. You need someone trained to work with the nervous system, who can be fully present, attuned to your cues. From that place you can take steps forward on the recovery path - using brain rewiring, beliefs work, deeper somatic practices, and shifting into new patterns.🌸 Try this:
• Imagine being held by someone kind and notice how it feels.
• Let that image soften in your chest as you breathe, like a warm glow.
• Or call a friend and say, “Can we talk about something real?”
Even one moment of safe connection can begin to shift your brain’s wiring.💬 Comment “Help” and I’ll DM you the free resource library.

👇 Dr John Sarno and Dr Deepak Chopra are speaki 👇 Dr John Sarno and Dr Deepak Chopra are speaking to chronic health conditions. Many ongoing symptoms are the body’s protection against suppressed stressors and emotions that never had space. When you turn toward what is true, your nervous system and brain can recalibrate. The body can follow.“You don’t have to fix your body to heal. You have to feel your feelings; and that’s how your body will follow.”  Dr. Deepak Chopra is referring here to the way that healing can start by feeling, rather than thinking or doing or trying to “fix”. When emotions move, your nervous system settles and your brain and body start to change.“There’s nothing like a little physical pain to keep your mind off your emotional problems.” Dr. John Sarno is talking here about his groundbreaking theory of TMS (The Mindbody Syndrome) - suggesting that the brain uses pain and other chronic symptoms as a distraction mechanism. His theory suggests that if, for example, you are in agony, it’s almost impossible to connect to an emotion or an underlying stressor… the pain or symptom will hold your attention.Maybe your symptoms are speaking. 💬 Comment “Help” and I’ll DM you free resources to support your recovery.

💕 Your body isn’t separate from your mind; it 💕 Your body isn’t separate from your mind; it responds to the thoughts you have.
Neuroscience teaches us this:
Every thought sends a message.
Every message shifts your biology.
This is Neuroplasticity and Polyvagal Theory at work. When your inner dialogue is full of pressure, fear, or self-blame, your nervous system responds accordingly; tightening, bracing, shutting down. It’s not your fault, and it is possible to start changing the pattern. Because your system is always listening.💗 This is why Beliefs Work matters in recovery. Not to “stay positive”, but to interrupt the mind loops keeping your system stuck.
💗 Speak to your system like it’s listening… because it is.💬 Comment “Help” and I’ll DM you the link to the free resources library to begin.

When your life is ruled by chronic symptoms, safet When your life is ruled by chronic symptoms, safety can feel like an impossible concept. In his writings, Dr. Gabor Maté explores how long-term stress and early adaptation patterns can shape our health. Many people with chronic illness are living inside a nervous system that never learned what true connection feels like. And without connection, the mindbody system doesn’t register safety, no matter how quiet or still things seem externally. This quote isn’t abstract.
“Safety is not the absence of threat; it is the presence of connection.”
It’s a key to understanding why healing from chronic illness requires more than rest, more than “becoming calm” or “trying to get better”. Co-regulation is essential - being with others, with ourselves, with nature in ways that are real, not forced. For those living with symptoms like fatigue, pain, dizziness, or shutdown: the deeper work involves restoring connection - consistently - so your system no longer has to brace against life. Even if symptoms are still present, your system can begin to unlearn the old alarm. And that changes everything.Try this practice now:
Place one hand on your chest over your heart.
Let your breath move slowly, without force.
Say softly (out loud or in your mind) on an out breath: “I am allowed to feel this. And I am not alone.” This is connection. And your system recognises it.💬 Comment “Help” and I’ll DM you the free resource library to support your recovery.

Recovery doesn’t require perfection; it requires Recovery doesn’t require perfection; it requires rhythm. If you’ve been stuck in the push-crash cycle; doing too much on good days, and barely coping on hard ones, you’re not alone. But this pattern keeps your system in survival mode. The nervous system and brain don’t heal through extremes. Recovery needs rhythm. Predictability. Stability. Flow. That doesn’t mean rigid schedules: It means steady patterns that rebuild safety and trust in your system.🌸 I wrote a blog post explaining this; why rhythm is essential, and how to begin shifting out of fragility and into a steady recovery rhythm. 💕 If you’ve ever felt like people don’t bel 💕 If you’ve ever felt like people don’t believe how unwell you really are, this is for you.⁣
Maybe you’ve been told you don’t “look sick.”
Maybe someone hinted you just need to try harder, stay positive, or get out more.
Maybe you’ve found yourself spiralling after a conversation, wondering if you should’ve said more, explained better, or somehow made them see it.
⁣
But here’s the truth: your experience is real, even if others can’t understand it.
⁣
Chronic illness, especially the invisible kind, often asks us to carry not just symptoms, but also the weight of being disbelieved.
⁣
You do not need to carry that.
You do not need to educate every person who questions you.
You do not need to prove anything to be treated with respect.
⁣
Let this post be a quiet permission slip:
To take your own truth seriously.
To stop explaining.
To trust what you know to be true.
⁣
💗 You are not imagining it. You are not too much.

💗 Recovery isn’t about doing more; it’s abo 💗 Recovery isn’t about doing more; it’s about choosing what matters. When your system is in survival mode, it’s easy to lose track of time, connection, even yourself. Anchors help bring you back.
I used to survive through the day through a fog.
Some hours were wired and frantic. Others were flat and numb.
But my recovery really began when I started returning to rhythm. Anchors in the day helped me reconnect with life. Your nervous system needs repetition and steadying moments to rebalance. Your brain needs anchors to focus on to rewire.
So instead of pushing through, try planting anchors.
Tiny moments that signal “I’m safe.” “I’m here.” “I can pause.”
It could be one song, one breath, a warm drink, your hand on your skin.
Simple. Physical. Repeatable.
These are more than comforts, they’re recalibration points for your brain.Try 2–3 anchors a day:
– A familiar song that brings you into your body and your heart
– Notice your breathing pattern without changing it for a few moments
– Touch a warm object or blanket to connect via the sensation of touchUse them often. Especially when you feel disconnected, overstimulated, or anxious.💬 Comment “Help” and I’ll DM you free resources to support your recovery.
