Healing as a Family
When Chronic Illness, Anxiety, or Nervous System Struggles Show Up in Your Family.
If your child or teen is living with anxiety, pain, fatigue, or chronic symptoms that haven’t responded to treatment, or if you’re looking for more happiness and connection in your family, you’re in the right place.
Explore Support Together:
Build Safety, Trust & Connection
There is no single way a family arrives here. Sometimes it’s a teenager or young adult whose symptoms haven’t responded to treatment. Sometimes a parent already doing this work chooses to bring in their child or another family member. Sometimes it begins the moment a child’s body starts showing what words can’t yet say.
With my own son’s recovery from chronic illness as the turning point, I have since worked with a growing number of families navigating chronic pain, anxiety, and nervous system struggles. What began as one mother stepping in when nothing else was helping her son has become a dedicated part of my practice: guiding teens, children, young adults, and the parents who love them, through mind-body and nervous system healing.
I work on zoom and offer personalised support as the whole family finds its way back to stability and relief from symptoms. Whatever you are facing, this approach can help.
Who This Is For
This work is for your family if:
- Your teenager or child is living with anxiety, pain, fatigue, or symptoms.
- Your child has started showing nervous system dysregulation and you want to understand what’s happening and how to help.
- You are already working with me and want to bring your teen or child into their own container of sessions.
- A sibling or another family member wants their own support alongside yours.
What This Work Looks Like
Sessions are personalised, experiential, and built entirely around you and your child or teen. What we focus on depends on what is actually in the way, and that can be different for every child and every family.
For teens and young adults, this often means working directly with anxiety, physical symptoms, and the patterns that keep their system stuck in stress or shutdown, alongside building the confidence to trust their own body again. For younger children, it can mean gentle, age-appropriate ways of helping their nervous system feel safe, so symptoms have less reason to persist.
For parents ready to understand what’s really going on, it can be about clarity, direction, and a plan that makes sense; with real support, real tools, and someone genuinely on your family’s side every step of the way.
How Sessions Are Structured
Every family arrives at this differently, so the first step is always just one session – a free discovery call or a full 55 minute session, where we look at whether it makes most sense for you and your child to attend sessions together, or to work separately, each in your own space. From there, sessions are usually offered as a block of six.
Sometimes that means one session a week for six weeks, with parent and child attending together throughout. Other times it’s three sessions for your child and three for you, running across three weeks.
By the end of that first block of sessions, there is very often already a real shift, deeper understanding, and some easing of symptoms too. That’s a natural point to review, and to decide when, or whether, another block of six sessions is the right next step.
Initial sessions can be:
- For young children, I often recommend sessions together with a parent.
- For teenagers, I often suggest working separately, the parent having sessions and the teen having sessions – each with your own space.
- For young adults, sessions are usually exclusively theirs, with a parent joining just one session for shared understanding.

A Message for You
If you are a parent, it can be helpful to know that you are not alone. In our modern way of living, so many people are affected by chronic pain and symptoms, and this can affect more than one member of a family. There have often been patterns of stress and protection moving quietly through the very structure of society, and even through earlier generations. These patterns can show up as anxiety, pain or chronic symptoms in the nervous system. But there is good news; it is reversible, and there is a clear path to health and happiness.
